Coronavirus Support Request
We know members may struggle to make loan repayments due to the impact of Coronavirus. If you have an outstanding credit union loan and you are having difficulty in meeting your repayment obligations as a direct result of Coronavirus we may be able to help you.
Please read the following information before applying for additional support.
The support we offer may be in the form of a short-term payment holiday or a reschedule to lower your repayments. Please consider carefully, whether these options are right for you – both will mean you end up paying additional interest on your loan in the long run.
Is your request for support a result of the impact of Coronavirus?
As a credit union we have not been received a direct grant from central government and we are not in a position to offer payment breaks automatically. So while we remain committed to supporting our members, please only apply if the support is essential.
We will request evidence that your future income has been affected by coronavirus and before you apply we will expect that you have requested support through any of the following measures, if applicable:
- speaking to your employer about any changes to your earnings, eg. through furlough.
- speaking to your mortgage lender about a repayment break
- confirming what social security payments you are eligible for
