This could be a full-time role but for the right candidate, part-time may be possible and the hours are also flexible – this does not have to be a 9 to 5 position.

CREDIT CONTROL- HEAD OFFICE:  STRATFORD

Role Requirements

LCCU are seeking an enthusiastic team player to join the Credit Control department.  If you can use Microsoft and are comfortable phoning members to discuss their arrears, we will train you to help members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tasks including but not limited to:

  • Managing own ledger of member accounts that have fallen into arrears
  • Using Curtains/XRS Collector systems to enquire, contact and update member accounts
  • Utilising varied collections methods, ranging from but not limited to Phone call, SMS Text, Email letters, Postal Letter
  • Updating member records in numerous systems and spreadsheets
  • High volume of inbound/outbound calls
  • Making arrangements with members, negotiating repayments/payment plans and settling arrears
  • Reducing arrears by ensuring members pay on time, chasing for outstanding payments
  • Reconcile member accounts where needed
  • Escalating problematic accounts to third party agencies
  • Liaising with DWP, third party debt collectors and solicitors
  • Conflict resolution, occasionally dealing with unhappy members and complaints handling/management
  • Liaising with our other branches, operations team and banking staff.
  • Attending team meetings/companywide meetings, contributing with ideas and opinions for improvement
  • General administrative duties, including but not limited to scanning/uploading/filing documents
  • Monitoring E-mailboxes and replying to member emails as well as dealing with other external and internal emails
  • Responding to member enquiries
  • Sorting paperwork, data entry and other duties related to the Credit Control department and wider finance team
  • Allocating payments to member accounts
  • Duties may evolve/change as role progresses
  • Any reasonable tasks as set by management/seniors in line with department/business needs

Requirements

  • Previous credit control experience is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Effective communication, candidate should be confident and be able to communicate well at all levels (written/verbal) with members and staff
  • Computer literate (Windows/MS Office Excel, Word) and good attention to detail as well as typing ability
  • Good numerical ability to read and understand member account balances and debts/spreadsheets and data etc
  • Good written communication, basic letter writing, sending emails or SMS to members
  • Good organisational skills, to be able to manage own workload effectively
  • Positive attitude/Can-do attitude, willing to learn, expand and increase knowledge and take on additional tasks/duties
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Team player
